It is almost never WordPress itself. It is the page builder. Elementor, Divi and WPBakery let anyone drag boxes around, and the price is enormous amounts of generated markup and a dozen scripts loading on every page. Add fifteen plugins accumulated over the years and you have a site that takes six seconds to appear on a phone. We build custom themes instead — the same editing experience for you, a fraction of the weight.

A theme designed for your business specifically, the block editor set up so the pages you actually edit are easy to edit, only the plugins genuinely needed, and proper security hardening. It stays fast because there is not much of it, and it stays maintainable because there is nothing exotic in there.

When WordPress is not the answer

If your site is a handful of pages that rarely change, WordPress is more machinery than you need — a static build is faster, cheaper to host and has no update treadmill. We will say so rather than sell you a CMS you will log into twice a year. WordPress earns its place when you are publishing regularly or need several people editing.
